This brief but engaging article, entitled "Where Two or Three are Gathered," asks and answers the question: "Is the Trinity Biblical?" The Christian community may be surprised to find out that this question is not a new one - for hundreds of years, it has been at the root of persecutions, debates, and inquisitions. When did the doctrine originate? Where did the word "Trinity" come from? What does the Bible say about this doctrine, directly and indirectly? Is God three-in-one-in-three? Is the Holy Spirit a person in the same sense as the Father and Son? These and more questions are addressed with an in-depth examination of every central Scripture to the teaching. “And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.†(John 17:3)
It's a religious dogma. With religious dogmas world over just about anything can be held to be fact even in the absence of a single shred of evidence to support such beliefs.
The Bible is clear that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are ONE. This does not mean one person, but a three-person Godhead. There is God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Each individual IS God just the same as all the other, but they each have a different function. If you read the book or John, for example, Jesus associated all God-like characteristics to the Holy Spirit, and Jesus is also worshiped by angels and accepts worship by man too. Worship is a prerogative of God. In addition, Jesus, forgives sins, and the Bible says that is an attribute of God. This is one of the mysteries we will have to wait and ask God about. Man cannot in his finite mind unravel and dissect God. If you say you do, you're a liar. If you're able to unravel the "Mysteries of godliness," then God would not be God.
